To access SFI payments and develop a more sustainable and regenerative approach to farming, Norfolk Farming Wildlife and Advisory Group can help – as a member of our charity, you benefit from access to our SFI guidance at a discounted rate.
The Sustainable Farming Incentive is known as a more flexible option for farming conservation than Countryside Stewardship; this is mainly down to the administrative ease of SFI. Should you seek the help of our qualified and professional advisers, depending on the size of your farm, this process can take time to finalise, ranging from periods of only a few hours to multiple days.
Norfolk FWAG is a team of experts that offer dependable farming advice, and we specialise in SFI guidance for Norfolk farmers and landowners. We help our members in as much capacity as needed – from advising on appropriate Sustainable Farming Incentive options or conducting in-field assessments to completing the full SFI scheme applications on your behalf.
Ultimately, we support you in accessing the Sustainable Farming Incentive to help fill the gap from the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS).
During the winter of 2023-2024, Norfolk FWAG team members, Evan Burdett and Henry Walker, worked with Norfolk County Council to identify ponds eligible for restoration and opportunities for pond creation to reverse terrestrialisation.
Our team set out with the goal of creating a detailed report that would provide an understanding of this situation, which would then assist in targeting environmental stewardship options and other initiatives.
In celebration of Earth Day, a spirited group of volunteers from Crisp Malt joined forces with representatives from Norfolk FWAG — Henry Walker and Bea White — along with farmer, Nick Anema, for a day of tree guard removal.
As the Norfolk delivery partner for the DEFRA Future Farming Resilience Fund-funded Royal Countryside Fund run, and Farm for the Future programme, Norfolk FWAG’s Sasha Wells and Bea White are providing essential support to farmers.
