About
Volunteering with Norfolk FWAG
As a charity for Norfolk farmers, we appreciate the hard work and loyalty of our volunteers, and we invite anyone who has a passion for conservation or a desire to positively contribute to the environment, to reach out to us to express your interest in becoming a Norfolk FWAG volunteer.
Your support
What can volunteers do to help us?
Being a volunteer is an exciting endeavour as you will be assisting our professional teams where it matters most – on the farmland!
Volunteers can assist us in a few different ways. Some will have the opportunity to get their boots muddy and hands dirty as they will be getting directly involved in supporting us in farmland enhancement activities. Such activities include tree planting, hedgerow trimming, wildlife and habitat monitoring, and pond restoration.
Norfolk FWAG also hosts a handful of events throughout the year, and volunteers can provide us with essential support acting as one of our event staff volunteers.
Who can help
Who can volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer to help us as we continue our mission of conservation through our farming advisory services. You don’t need any special skills to volunteer; all that we ask from you is that you foster a positive attitude and hold a love for the environment.
When we have volunteering opportunities available, you will be given full instructions and tips on the day you arrive, and we will always let you know beforehand if you need to bring anything with you for a day of volunteering, such as welly boots or gloves.
Environmental change
Your chance to give back to the environment
If you’re someone who is excited about conserving the beautiful countryside of Norfolk, and you’d love nothing more than to protect local wildlife and give back to the environment, then this could be your next big adventure.
As a volunteer, you can feel proud of the fact you are taking an active role in protecting the environment, allowing it to flourish, along with the men and women who farm it.
To remember the incredible contribution you have made, a volunteering team photo will be taken on such occasions and sent out to all participants the following day. While we know volunteers are content enough with giving back to the environment, it’s not without its perks. If possible, farmers you help may offer exclusive farm tours and “behind-the-scenes” access to farming landscapes.
Refreshments and lunch may also be offered to volunteers, but again, this will be at the farmer’s discretion.
