Richard Waddingham Pond Award
Celebrate the remarkable
Richard Waddingham Pond Award
The Richard Waddingham Pond Award celebrates outstanding work to conserve, restore and enhance ponds and associated wetland habitats on Norfolk farmland. Created in memory of Richard Waddingham of Manor Farm, Briston, whose lifelong commitment to pond management demonstrated how water-rich features in farmland can support vibrant wildlife even amidst intensive agriculture, the award honours his legacy and helps inspire others to follow his example.
Richard’s approach to pond restoration was a key influence on the work of the Norfolk Ponds Project and continues to shape how ponds are valued and managed across the county. Co-ordinated by Norfolk FWAG, in partnership with the Norfolk Ponds Project, the award is presented as part of the Norfolk Landscapes Conference & Exhibition.
