Residing in the Norfolk broads, Joe and his family manage a diverse 225-hectare mixed farm. Cultivating crops, overseeing a 40-cow suckler herd, maintaining a 100-head Southdown sheep flock and a free-range layer unit with 32,000 hens. They aim to feed exclusively their own produce to their hens, reducing their carbon footprint and reliance on imports. Engaged in environmental stewardship, their farm boasts diverse habitats like floristically enhanced margins, beetle banks and scrapes on their marshes.
Actively welcoming school visits, they collaborate with the Country Trust to educate children. Joe is now collaborating with Norfolk FWAG, driving a farmer-led cluster group in the Broads, aiming to make a substantial impact on Norfolkâs farmed environment and productivity.
