From a fifth generation Cambridgeshire farming family, whose mixed farming enterprises were located on the edge of the fens. They grew a wide variety of root and cereal crops and grazed areas of the Nene Washes which helped encourage habitat regeneration culminating in SSSI designation. Michael’s environmental farming methods helped him achieve the FWAG award for best Cambridgeshire farm for conservation in 1989. He has been involved in the management of deer for over 40 years, much of which has been in Norfolk. He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), a BASIS registered Environmental Professional Advisor and also holds a degree in Applied Environmental Land Management.
