Richard is the co-founder and lead farmer in the Breckland Farmers Wildlife Network, a farmer-led group collaborating to create a landscape-scale habitat network across the 400 square miles of the Norfolk & Suffolk Brecks. Heavily involved within the Breckland Landscape Recovery project, the project seeks to create new habitats, develop wildlife corridors, and bring chalk streams back to life.

Richard is also a grazier whose sheep graze on land across Norfolk and Suffolk, with over 350 storel lambs grazing herbal leys and other material.
